1. Nāha, bhikkhave, aññaekadhammapi samanupassāmi, yo evasaddhammassa sammosāya antaradhānāya savattati yathayida, bhikkhave, pamādo. Pamādo, bhikkhave, saddhammassa sammosāya antaradhānāya savattatīti.

I do not see, o monks, any other thing which thus leads to confusion and disappearance of a true teaching as it is carelessness. Carelessness, o monks, leads to confusion and disappearance of the true teaching.”

Nāha, bhikkhave, aññaekadhammapi samanupassāmi, yo evasaddhammassa hitiyā asammosāya anantaradhānāya savattati yathayida, bhikkhave, appamādo. Appamādo, bhikkhave, saddhamassa hitiyā asammosāya anantaradhānāya savattatīti.

I do not see, o monks, any other thing which thus leads to continuity, not confusion and non-disappearance of a true teaching as it is vigilance. Vigilance, o monks, leads to continuation, non-confusion and non-disappearance of the true teaching.”

Nāha, bhikkhave, aññaekadhammapi samanupassāmi, yo evasaddhammassa sammosāya antaradhānāya savattati yathayida, bhikkhave, kosajjaṃ. Kosajjaṃ, bhikkhave, saddhammassa sammosāya antaradhānāya savattatīti.

I do not see, o monks, any other thing which thus leads to confusion and disappearance of a true teaching as it is idleness. Idleness, o monks, leads to confusion and disappearance of the true teaching.”

Nāha, bhikkhave, aññaekadhammapi samanupassāmi, yo evasaddhammassa hitiyā asammosāya anantaradhānāya savattati yathayida, bhikkhave, viriyārambho. Viriyārambho, bhikkhave, saddhamassa hitiyā asammosāya anantaradhānāya savattatīti.

I do not see, o monks, any other thing which thus leads to continuity, not confusion and non-disappearance of a true teaching as it is taking effort. Taking effort, o monks, leads to continuation, non-confusion and non-disappearance of the true teaching.”

Nāha, bhikkhave, aññaekadhammapi samanupassāmi, yo evasaddhammassa hitiyā asammosāya anantaradhānāya savattati yathayida, bhikkhave, anuyogo kusalāna

dhammāna, ananuyogo akusalānadhammānaṃ. Anuyogo, bhikkhave, kusalāna

dhammānasaddhamassa hitiyā asammosāya anantaradhānāya savattatīti.

I do not see, o monks, any other thing which thus leads to continuity, not confusion and non-disappearance of a true teaching as it is practicing good things and not practicing bad things. Practicing good things o monks, leads to continuation, non-confusion and non-disappearance of the true teaching.”

2. Nāha, bhikkhave, aññaekarūpapi samanupassāmi, yaevapurisassa cittapariyādāya tiṭṭhati, yathayida, bhikkhave, itthirūpa. Itthirūpa, bhikkhave, purisassa cittapariyādāya tiṭṭhatīti.

I do not see, o monks, any other form which man’s mind thus keeps under control as it is form of a woman. Form of a woman, o monks, man’s mind keeps under control.”

Nāha, bhikkhave, aññaekasaddapi samanupassāmi, yaevapurisassa cittapariyādāya tiṭṭhati, yathayida, bhikkhave, itthisaddo. Itthisaddo, bhikkhave, purisassa cittapariyādāya tiṭṭhatīti.

I do not see, o monks, any other sound which man’s mind thus keeps under control as it is sound of a woman. Sound of a woman, o monks, man’s mind keeps under control.”

Nāha, bhikkhave, aññaekagandhapi samanupassāmi, yaevapurisassa cittapariyādāya tiṭṭhati, yathayida, bhikkhave, itthigandho. Itthigandho, bhikkhave, purisassa cittapariyādāya tiṭṭhatīti.

I do not see, o monks, any other smell which man’s mind thus keeps under control as it is smell of a woman. Smell of a woman, o monks, man’s mind keeps under control.”

Nāha, bhikkhave, aññaekarasapi samanupassāmi, yaevapurisassa cittapariyādāya tiṭṭhati, yathayida, bhikkhave, itthiraso. Itthiraso, bhikkhave, purisassa cittapariyādāya tiṭṭhatīti.

I do not see, o monks, any other taste which man’s mind thus keeps under control as it is taste of a woman. Taste of a woman, o monks, man’s mind keeps under control.”

Nāha, bhikkhave, aññaekaphoṭṭhabbapi samanupassāmi, yaevapurisassa cittapariyādāya tiṭṭhati, yathayida, bhikkhave, itthphoṭṭhabbaṃ. Itthiphoṭṭhabbaṃ, bhikkhave, purisassa cittapariyādāya tiṭṭhatīti.

I do not see, o monks, any other touch which man’s mind thus keeps under control as it is touch of a woman. Touch of a woman, o monks, man’s mind keeps under control.”

Nāha, bhikkhave, aññaekarūpapi samanupassāmi, yaevaṃ itthiyā cittapariyādāya tiṭṭhati, yathayida, bhikkhave, purisarūpa. Purisarūpa, bhikkhave, itthiyā cittapariyādāya tiṭṭhatīti.

I do not see, o monks, any other form which woman’s mind thus keeps under control as it is form of a man. Form of a man, o monks, woman’s mind keeps under control.”
